“TREASURE YOUR FAMILY”
Life is short, no one should live it in fear, because if someone fear life then how could that someone enjoy it? Isn’t it the essence of life? Enjoyment , happiness and love.
I can still remember the story what my mother told me. On the 24th day of October, year 2002, an angel was born and it was me.They were so happy as they saw my face but they never expected that they will going to encounter such storm as I was born. Palompon, Leyte, a land where I was born and also, a land where it first witness the greatest fear that my family had felt. After my mother gave birth to me, she didn’t expect that she will going to suffer a great loss of blood. At that moment, she think that it will be the last day of her life. She felt fear, great fear not to herself but to her children and most especially to her newly born child, which is me. But, truly God is good because he never let my mother die but still she was confined at the hospital for further check up. During her days at the hospital, my Aunt were the one who took good care of me. For a newly born baby, he/she must drink milk from his/her mother’s breast but in my case during those days, instead of breastfeeding, my Aunt gave me a milk, not a literal milk but but they said it is good for the baby’s health. They called it “Gabon”. Gabon is the substitute to my milk because the doctor restricted my mother to breastfeed me due to her condition. As days goes by, my mother recovered and she was discharged at the hospital. My family were thankful that she’s okay and nothing bad happens to her, especially to their new member of the family, which is me.
I am the seventh child of the family and the youngest among the girls. I still have my youngest brother and also our youngest in the family. I am not that close with my siblings, except one. My older sister, whom I am next to her. We’ve been that close to the point that we share each others feelings, problems, funny thoughts, dreams and most especially, our secrets. Of all my siblings, she’s the only one I must say, my sister/best friend. The type of person like her is what I’ve looking for. I may meet lots of new friends as I grow older but no one can compare to her. Despite of the closeness we had with my sister, I still had a time to bond and create memories with my family, of course.
There’s no other great memories that had happen in my life but the memories that I had with my family. So, love your family. Make them your priority. Because in this world where everything is just “temporary”, your family will always stay in your life “permanently”.
